Dr. Carlos Eduardo Alcocer Lamm

Carlos Alcocer Lamm, MD. Graduated from medical school at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City with honors. Later did his internship at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida.

Dr. Alcocer continued his education and did his opthalmological residency at the prestigious Asociacion Para Evitar la Ceguera in Mexico City, which is well world wide recognized as one of the largest eye hospitals in the world with a competitive program and well known for its investigation and clinical trials for the newest technology from Germany, Japan and the USA.

Dr. Alcocer did special training and fellowship programs in Opthalmic Pathology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Asociacion Para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico.

Dr. Alcocer is an expert and was one of the pioneers with the VISX excimer laser system in Mexico and developed his refractive surgery experience amoung with the development of VISX technology. He was one of the first eye surgeons to work with the custom vue , wavefront technology,iris registration and presbyopia correction even before it was approved in the USA due to FDA regulations.

Today Dr. Alcocer has performed over 100 persbyopia corrections for hypeopic patients with tremendous success with the VISX international program, prior to its FDA approval in the USA.

Dr. Alcocer is fully bilingual and speaks fluent English and Spanish, he has published several articles for different scientific eye magazines in the USA and Canada and is a member of the Mexican Society of Opthalmology, Mexican Academy of Opthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Sugery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
