I was 45 years old, and had been wearing contacts since I was around 13. I wore them day in and day out and would have to take them out every night, since at one point I had developed an ulcer. After that, I did not want to take any chances on having any other infections. After I took my contacts out each night, I would wear my uncomfortably heavy glasses since my prescription was already a -3.25 in each eye. In the mornings, it bothered me to wake up not being able to see much and I remember wishing I could have LASIK surgery. I took my daughter to Cancun on vacation for her fifteenth birthday and went to see about LASIK surgery with an old friend of my husband's who is an excellent eye doctor in Cancun. I was in and out of surgery in about 30 minutes and could not be happier with my eyesight. Now I can watch television in the evenings sans the heavy glasses and when I wake up I can see EVERYTHING. I am a teacher, and LASIK has helped me to see even the very back of my classroom (catching everything - good and bad - my students do... ha ha ha). I LOVE MY EYESIGHT! I'm writing to update you about my vision. It is incredible to be able to see. Many times a day I am struck by just being able to SEE, with no glasses! My eyes feel fine. I was using eyedrops regularly but recently I haven't felt the need to. My vision seems to be excellent. I can see close-up and far away. I haven't driven at night recently so I don't remember if I see halos around car headlights or not. I'll pay attention next time I drive at night. Thank you for everything!
